Well, hat #2 for this week is finished, but it is NOT what I expected it would look like at all! Thank you Miriam for the name Jumping Fences..........she also suggested The Unexpected! :)
This was supposed to look like a diagonal rib and welt pattern, but as you can see........it does not! I wasn't going to post the pattern, but some people said they would like to have it, so I will happily share it with all of you. Remember that all my patterns are also on Ravelry in Robin Celli Designs and my 2 ebooks can be purchased there as well as right here through the blog.

Jumping Fences
Abbreviations:
k2tog - knit 2 stitches together as one
Cast on 72 stitches, place marker and join, taking care not to twist stitches.
Work Brim:
Row 1: knit all stitches
Row 2: purl all stitches
Repeat Rows 1 & 2 four more times for a total of 10 rows
Work Pattern:
Rows 1 & 2: *k1, p1, k1, p5*; repeat across
Rows 3 & 4: *k5, p1, k1, p1*; repeat across
Rows 5 & 6: *p5, k1, p1, k1*; repeat across
Rows 7 & 8: *k5, p1, k1, p1*; repeat across
Rows 9 & 10: *k1, p1, k1, p5*; repeat across
Rows 11 & 12: *p1, k1, p1, k5*; repeat across
Rows 13 & 14: *k1, p1, k1, p5*; repeat across
Rows 15 & 16: *p1, k1, p1, k5*; repeat across
Repeat Rows 1 - 16 once
Decrease Crown:
Row 1: *k6, k2tog*; repeat from * around
Row 2: *k5, k2tog*; repeat from * around
Row 3: *k4, k2tog*; repeat from * around
Row 4: *k3, k2tog*; repeat from * around
Row 5: *k2, k2tog*; repeat from * around
Finish: Cut working yarn, leaving a 6-inch tail. Draw the tail through the remaining stitches, cinch closed and secure. Weave in ends and enjoy.
