Introducing Schnapps' Centenary Cap: Graceful Clouds!

This is Schnapps' 100th hat pattern!  It just might have been the most difficult to name as well.  Thank you to Elissa and everyone for their suggestions........many wanted Schnapps' name to be in the name, but many thought it looked like clouds or waves too.  Schnapps will just have to get his name in the title of another pattern.  I'm sure he's got more ideas to share.

I used 2 skeins pf Louisa Harding's Kashmir Aran yarn that I had in my stash, but you could use any worsted weight yarn for this.  I've included instructions for other yarn weights as well.

Sunday was Schnapps' 9th birthday!  He got lots of presents and went to the park.  Yesterday he picked up his needles and got to work on this pattern.  He hopes that everyone likes it.

Finish: Cut working yarn, leaving a 6-inch tail.  Draw the tail through the remaining stitches, cinch closed and secure.  Weave in ends and enjoy!

The pattern is worked over 6 stitches.

As written this fits an average to large adult.  To make this for a smaller adult, cast on 72 stitches.

To  knit this using 6-weight yarn, use size 13 needles and cast on 48 stitches.

To knit this using 5-weight yarn, use size 10.5 needles and cast on 66 stitches.

To make it child size, use worsted yarn, size 8 needles and cast on 60 stitches.  Adjust in increments of 6 stitches for individual sizes.

To knit this using sport weight yarn, use size 5 needles and cast on 114 stitches.

All are welcome to join us in some way!

If you know anyone who needs chemo caps, please don't hesitate to contact me and I will send some out to anywhere in the USA.

  2. Robin, I do not see on Graceful Clouds download correction to the pattern. I was searching it to make corrected copy for myself. Happy Day to you and Mr. Schnapps! Judi
