Introducing Celebration!

This hat is named Celebration in honor of Schnapps' 10th birthday today!  He had a nice walk in the park this morning and he'll get lots of snuggles and love all day and his presents tonight!  He wanted to give something to everyone else though, so here is his latest pattern.

Happy 10th Birthday to my best friend and our creative mascot Schnapps!

This is a very simple pattern alternating stockinette and twisted stockinette for some texture.  It's also a great way to use up odds and ends of yarn like Schnapps did here.   This is all Lion Brand Hometown USA left over from other hats!

Or you can make it in just 2 colors to coordinate with a favorite team or school or just 2 favorite colors like this one.  The possibilities are endless and there are directions for all yarn weights below.  This one was knit with 2 colors of Charisma.

If you're not a fan of Delaware Head Huggers yet, stop by and "Like" our Facebook page.  Help us name the patterns and see all the beautiful hats that are donated.  Stop by Kozy Kovers for Kids Facebook page too!  We welcome everyone to join us.  Stop by and say hello.  You can always reach Schnapps or me at robin@delawareheadhuggers.org too.  We love to hear from everyone!

To knit this using worsted weight yarn, use size 7 needles and cast on 78 stitches.

To make it child size, use worsted yarn, size 7 needles and cast on 66 stitches.  Adjust in increments of 6 stitches for individual sizes.

To knit this using sport weight yarn, use size 5 needles and cast on 108 stitches.

  2. I have the Play Book and the one with lots of chemo hats. Is there another hat book that I don't have? Love the patterns, thank you so much for putting them all together.

  3. Hi there,
Do you carry the one color of yarn until it's used again or do you cut it each time ?
    Thanks

  4. Adorable hat and OMG what a darling fur baby. We had two schnauzers and just loved them to bits.

  5. If you knit all the rounds in circular, doesn't that make it stockinette stitch. I LOVE the hat, and don't use circulars very often, but it seems like that was how it works.

    1. As it says, the hat is a mix of stockinette and twisted stockinette. Some rows are knit and some are knit through the back loop.
