It's only Tuesday and I've already finished 2 hats for this week. Waterfalls of Hope is a brand new pattern, right off Schnapps' needles!
The first was knit using the Love Links pattern and Michael's Charisma yarn. The pattern can be found on Ravelry, in my Craftsy store and in the e-book MORE Chemo Caps to Share. Check out the model too! Barb from Illinois sent this to me so I no longer have to wait for someone else to be home to get a photo of a hat! Thank you Barb!!
Schnapps is afraid of the head.................so we are keeping it up on the bookcase for him!
Waterfalls of Hope was knit using Lion Brand Tweed Stripes, which is a very soft yarn and the colors just seemed to work for this pattern. I think though that it will work in any colorway and even in solid colors too. It's a simple pattern but the texture adds a little extra to the hat. Schnapps almost lost his yarn in the wind, but he managed to hold onto it and finish up the hat this morning.

Waterfalls of Hope
You need: 75 - 100 yards of 5-weight yarn and size 10.5 16 inch circular needles
Abbreviations:
wyif: with yarn in front of work
sl 2: slip 2 stitches, one at a time as if to knit
k2tog: knit 2 stitches together
Cast on 72 stitches, place marker and join, taking care not to twist stitches.
Work Brim: knit all stitches for 6 rows
Work Pattern:
Row 1: *k2, wyif sl2, bring yarn to back, return 2 slipped stitches to the left hand needle and then knit those 2 stitches as usual*; repeat around
Row 2: knit all stitches
Row 3: *wyif sl2, bring yarn to back, return 2 slipped stitches to the left hand needle and then knit those 2 stitches as usual, k2*; repeat around
Row 4: knit all stitches
Repeat Rows 1 - 4 for 5 repeats or until the hat is between 7 and 7.5 inches long.
Decrease Crown:
Row 1: *k10, k2tog*; repeat around
Row 2: *k9, k2tog*; repeat around
Row 3: *k8, k2tog*; repeat around
Row 4: *k7, k2tog*; repeat around
Row 5: *k6, k2tog*; repeat around
Row 6: *k5, k2tog*; repeat around
Row 7: *k4, k2tog*; repeat around
Row 8: *k3, k2tog*; repeat around
Row 9: *k2, k2tog*; repeat around
Finish: Cut working yarn, leaving a 6-inch tail. Draw the tail through the remaining stitches, cinch closed and secure. Weave in ends and enjoy.
The pattern is worked over 4 stitches. Adjust in increments of 12 stitches to keep the crown decrease the same.
To use worsted weight yarn, cast on 108 stitches on size 8 needles and work as written.
Finish: Cut working yarn, leaving a 6-inch tail. Draw the tail through the remaining stitches, cinch closed and secure. Weave in ends and enjoy.
