Here's another "Football Game" hat that Schnapps and I made on Sunday during the games. Thanks Barb for the name! It's a very quick knit and it's toasty warm. A bit geometric in design, it looks great with super bulky or 6-weight yarn. You could double up worsted weight yarn too.
It's a multiple of 10 pattern, so adjust accordingly! The pattern will work if you double the stitches and use size 8 needles with worsted weight yarn, but the look will be much different.
I used Lion Brand Hometown USA for this. I love that yarn...........it knits up so nicely and it's so warm! It's Schnapps approved!

You need: 50 - 60 yards of super bulky yarn and size US 13 16 inch circular needles
Abbreviations:
k2tog: knit 2 stitches together
k2tog: knit 2 stitches together
yo: yarn over
C2B: skip first stitch, knit second stitch, but don’t drop it from needle. Then knit the first stitch and drop both.
p2tog: purl 2 stitches together
Cast on 50 stitches, place marker and join, taking care not to twist stitches.

Row 1: *k3, p2, k2tog, yo, C2B, p1*; repeat around
